Coordinated dispatch for ancillary markets

Using demand response delivery of ancillary services to the transmission system operator represents a great opportunity for increasing profitability in the industrial sector. Asset operation can be adjusted to support power grid balancing, hereby maximizing revenues.

Setting up and operating flexible assets on the ancillary services markets is challenging. We have the experience to guide our customers through this process. The ReserveController will automatically dispatch assets, improving revenues with minimal effort.

Improving revenues with minimal effort

No disruption of primary process

Compatible with all energy suppliers

Automated demand response to maximize value.

Here’s why you choose Senfal.

Improving revenues with minimal effort

Senfal will automate all the demand response processes and we take care of any administrative obligations.

Compatible with all energy suppliers

Thanks to our in-depth market knowledge, we monetize the flexibility of your assets in the best possible way.

No disruption of primary processes

Our prime concern is your main business operation. We implement failsafe measures to make sure it keeps running smoothly.

Senfal’s technology explained

Bidding strategy based on price and asset behavior

After identifying the possibilities for delivering ancillary services, asset control systems are interfaced with Senfal’s cloud-based software. Once a connection is established, we monitor consumption and run simulations.

Senfal sets up all required interfaces with the reserve markets and makes sure all steps of the pre-qualification process are successfully completed. Going live, Senfal applies its algorithms to a bidding strategy based on price and asset behavior, thereby maximizing revenues.

Demand Response Aggregator

Aggregating decentralized assets in pools

As a demand response aggregator Senfal combines decentralized assets in pools. Flexible assets which are too small to offer grid services individually, or which cannot offer the required (full-time) availability, can join the Senfal pool and profit from the resulting revenues.

Industrial assets such as CHPs and e-boilers but also batteries and electric vehicles are ideal assets for these pools. We work with all assets that produce or consume flexible electric power. By joining the Senfal pool, our customers monetize some of the flexibility of their assets and at the same time support the increase of renewable electricity in the grid.

ReserveController Modules

To meet the specific needs of our customers, we offer market specific modules. All modules are applicable for the ‘Energie-investeringsaftrek’ (EIA).

R1 - FCR

Dispatch of the flexibility of batteries on the primary reserve (R1, FCR) market.

R2 - aFRR

Dispatch of the flexibility of batteries on the secondary reserve (R2, aFRR) market.

R3 - mFRR

Dispatch of the flexibility of batteries on the tertiary reserve (R3, mFRR) market.
